Aero, blame on Aero, that simple cosmetic feature, no needed,
stupid, resource consuming, etc, etc, has caused more problems than all
the bugs of the whole Vista. Just because the i7210 was not capable of
running Aero the Vista Capable "medallion" was gone and the interest in
supporting the series was gone with it. Add to that Intel not selling
the Pentium M any more and you have the perfect formula for disaster. Well,
there has been a group of persons contacting Founder asking for Vista
Support. Back in April 2007 we had some feedback from this company. Now
we know that we were contacting the wrong guys. It's time to turn our
guns to ECS. As far as I know there are two major issues in the i7210
series, the lack of support for the SD Reader and an issue when the
device comes back from Hibernation.

Thanks Martin for that bit of information.
Shame but at least we're clearer on the situation.
And after knowing this information, I have gone and reinstall my i7210 to Vista Business edition. I will blog about it and post a topic here too later tonight when I get home from work. Just to help those others who are interested in achieving the same...
Obviously this will not get the endorsement (for support) from TabletKiosk, but more of user-group support.

The above shows what is the reaction of ECS about this issue.

Seems like ECS is brushing it under the rug and ignoring their responsibility... tsk tsk tsk

Dear All Vista hunters
I am pretty sure time is on our side. Sooner or later all critical chipsets even in this model will gain driver support on vista by either us or maybe by a reusage in a different future model.
If the major chips then run , it will be a question of configuration and usage. Since the umpc has his own restrictions, those will certainly be interfering with MS idea of Vista.
Lets call out for a special "UMPC" fitted OS which respects the umpc in its nature. Small , quick and usage-friendly. ... tobe continued.
Rob /hides his penguins ;-)

Powerful message! And hopefully ECS understands the ground they're treading on as it doesn't come out very well or positive for them... I'm already on my mission not to get ECS products... IT's ashamed but the truth be known, they just don't care about their customers (of any scale!)

A solution to the last driver needed to complete the Vista Drivers for the i7210 was found by a user of todoumpc.com , I'm talking about the SD drivers. So, We have Vista fully working in i7210 and i7209.
I passed the information to Martin.
