Position: Senior Accounting Analyst

Reporting to: Corporate Controller

Summary

The Senior Accounting Analyst leads the monthly close process, prepares financial statements, accounts for revenue, inventory and cost of goods sold, co-leads the annual audit process, manages tax compliance activities, and ensures compliance with GAAP.

Essential Job Functions/Expectations:

  • Develop the monthly close calendar and task lists. Ensure timely close. Maintain thorough close and financial statement documentation and supporting schedules, lead sheets and journal entry backup
  • Ensure adequate documentation of sales transactions and document compliance with revenue recognition accounting principles
  • Maintain accurate records of channel inventory and record channel inventory revenue recognition deferral
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory in QuickBookssystem; coordinate periodic inventory verification and valuation; maintain accurate cost of goods sold records
  • Prepare all monthly GAAP financial statements and related documentation
  • Research, document and recommend disclosure for GAAP questions and issues related to financial and SEC reporting
  • Maintain QuickBooks (or similar) reporting tools and chart of accounts
  • Co-Lead with Controller annual audit process; serve as primary point of contact for audit process and calendar
  • Maintain files of audit schedules and requested information
  • Manage the accounts and supporting schedules for debt, equity, stock option compensation expenses, bad debt and other receivables reserves, royalties, accrued compensation, interest income and expense, income tax expense, and others as needed
  • Calculate and prepare schedules for annual tax provision; review tax provision with external auditors; prepare related annual report footnote
  • Assist external tax advisors with preparation of periodic federal, state and local tax returns or reports. Maintain adequate documentation and files of taxation compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all franchise, sales and value-added taxes in all domestic and foreign jurisdictions
  • Other duties as assigned or are required from time to time

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • 5+ years of general, cost, and revenue accounting in an outsourced, multinational manufacturing and multi-tier distribution enterprise
  • CPA, and public accounting experience
  • QuickBooks transaction subsystem and general ledger experience
  • QuickBooks reporting experience
  • Bachelor level accounting education
